If your video, post or listing was removed on a copyright complaint you believe is mistaken (for example, fair use), 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) lets you send a counter-notification to the platform's designated agent. It must include your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury of a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; consent to federal court jurisdiction where you live (or where the provider is found, if you are outside the U.S.); and agreement to accept service from the complainant. The provider forwards it to the claimant and must restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the claimant sues. YouTube follows the same rule: the claimant has 10 U.S. business days to show court action, or the video comes back. False statements carry liability under § 512(f).
