Google's "Results about you" tool removes search results that show your home address, phone number or email even if the site stays up. California residents have a stronger lever: the CPPA's free Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP, consumer.drop.privacy.ca.gov) has taken requests since January 1, 2026, and since August 1, 2026 every registered data broker must check it at least every 45 days and delete your data. Any Californian can also send a CCPA deletion request (Civ. Code § 1798.105), which must be answered within 45 days.
