How do I stop spam texts and political texts and report them?

Marketing texts sent with an autodialer to a cell phone require your prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227), and you can revoke consent by any reasonable means, including replying STOP; the sender must honor revocation within 10 business days (47 CFR § 64.1200(a)(10)). Political campaigns need consent for autodialed texts too and are not covered by the Do Not Call Registry; many use peer-to-peer platforms where a person clicks send, which the FCC treats as manual dialing. Forward unwanted texts to 7726 (SPAM) so your carrier can block the sender, report them to the FCC at consumercomplaints.fcc.gov and the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov, and never click links in unexpected texts.
