Reporting illegal content ([Site name])

[Site name] ([https://example.com]) provides a notice and action mechanism under Articles 16 and 17 of the EU Digital Services Act. Anyone can notify us of content they consider illegal.

How to notify us: use our request form at [your request page URL] or write to [contact email], stating why you consider the content illegal, its exact location (URL), your name and email address, and a good-faith confirmation that your notice is accurate. We acknowledge receipt, decide diligently and without undue delay, inform you of the decision, and give the affected user a statement of reasons. Decisions can be contested through our internal complaint system for six months.

What a DSA Notice-and-Action Notice must contain

An easy-to-access, user-friendly and exclusively electronic way to submit notices (Article 16(1)).
The notice asks for: a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why the content is illegal; the exact electronic location (URL); the notifier's name and email address (except for child sexual abuse offences); a good-faith statement that the notice is accurate and complete (Article 16(2)).
Acknowledge receipt without undue delay (Article 16(4)); decide in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner (Article 16(6)); tell the notifier the decision and the redress available (Article 16(5)).
Give the affected user a statement of reasons (Article 17) and say whether automated means are used.
Applies since February 17, 2024 to every hosting service with recipients in the EU, wherever it is established; enforced by the national Digital Services Coordinators.
