Trusted flagger

A trusted flagger is an entity awarded that status by a Member State's Digital Services Coordinator under Article 22 of the Digital Services Act because it has particular expertise in detecting illegal content, is independent from online platforms, and works diligently, accurately, and objectively. Online platforms must give notices submitted by trusted flaggers within their area of expertise priority and process them without undue delay. Trusted flaggers publish annual reports on their notices, and the status can be suspended or revoked if they submit insufficiently precise or inadequately substantiated notices. Victim-support organizations often hold this status for intimate-image cases.
