DMCA counter-notice

A DMCA counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) lets a user whose content was removed dispute the takedown. It must include the user's physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement under penalty of perjury that the user has a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and the user's name, address, and phone number plus consent to federal court jurisdiction and to accept service from the complainant. The provider must forward it to the complainant and restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant files a lawsuit.
