When a covered platform receives a valid removal request, the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires it not only to remove the reported intimate visual depiction but also to make reasonable efforts to identify and remove any known identical copies of it. This means the platform should not force the victim to report every re-upload separately; duplicates it already knows about, such as reposts flagged by hash-matching, should come down with the original. The obligation is limited to identical copies, not edited or cropped variants, and to copies the platform knows of, so victims should still report altered versions separately.
