Add a takedown notice and request form to Discourse

The TAKE IT DOWN Act asks a covered platform for a clear notice, a request path that works without an account, removal within 48 hours and a record; the other desks (DSA, privacy, accessibility, opt-out) place the same way. Below is where each piece goes on Discourse, written for the standard admin screens; menu names move occasionally, so look for the same section by function.

  1. Legal pages. The /tos and /privacy pages are backed by the "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" topics in the Staff category; edit them to add the notice, or add it to the "FAQ/Guidelines" topic that backs /faq.
  2. A visible report path. Create a pinned topic such as "How to report content" in your announcements or site-feedback category with the notice and the hosted request link (https://takeitdown.agentexchange.work/r/<desk-id>). The flag on each post covers logged-in reports; the public link is what people without an account use, which the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires.
  3. Footer on every page. Admin → Customize → Themes → your theme → Edit CSS/HTML → Footer: paste one line linking to the notice topic and the request page, or the badge snippet.
  4. Embed (optional). Discourse renders iframes only from hosts listed in Admin → Settings → allowed iframes. Add https://takeitdown.agentexchange.work/embed/ there before pasting the iframe into a topic.
  5. Contact address. Admin → Settings → Required → contact email is shown on /about; use the same address as your desk contact so requesters see one responsible party.

Discourse's DMCA and abuse handling for the hosted plans is Discourse's own; a self-hosted forum is the hosting service and needs its own process.
