Add a takedown notice and request form to Shopify

The TAKE IT DOWN Act asks a covered platform for a clear notice, a request path that works without an account, removal within 48 hours and a record; the other desks (DSA, privacy, accessibility, opt-out) place the same way. Below is where each piece goes on Shopify, written for the standard admin screens; menu names move occasionally, so look for the same section by function.

  1. Create the notice page. Online Store → Pages → Add page. Paste the notice from the generator into the page body and set it to visible.
  2. Link the request form. In the page editor select the words "request form" and add a link to your hosted request page (https://takeitdown.agentexchange.work/r/<desk-id>). To show the form inline instead, open the editor's HTML view (the <> button) and paste the iframe embed code from your desk dashboard.
  3. Put it in the footer. Online Store → Navigation → Footer menu → Add menu item → choose the page. Themes print the footer menu on every page, which is where people look for a removal or privacy link.
  4. Reach it from checkout. Settings → Policies: add one line pointing to the notice page inside your Privacy policy or Terms of service, because the checkout footer links only to those policy pages.
  5. Add the badge. Online Store → Themes → Customize → Footer → Add block → Custom Liquid (most Online Store 2.0 themes have it) and paste the snippet from the badge gallery.

Shopify's built-in contact form cannot issue ticket numbers or a status page, so keep the hosted request page as the form and use the Shopify page for the notice.
